Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park is one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations. The park, which covers 3,893 square kilometers, is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and hippos.

The park is also home to the Murchison Falls, a spectacular waterfall that plunges 43 meters over a cliff into the Nile River. Murchison Falls National Park was first established as a game reserve in 1926.

The park was expanded and renamed in 1962, and became a national park in 1971. The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Tourism is an important part of the park’s economy, and the park receives over 200,000 visitors each year.
